Practice - Smoke

Just what i did today trying to learn how to make realistic smoke but this is my results not as real as i oped but better then nothing. The reason am trying to learn this is because of a plan for an image am making I set my self the challenge to do so, also its to keep me busy, since I have no work left to do. So Practice is the best to do in my spar time.

Some Ideas for the Sssh! Salford Secret logo but I think the logo may already been sorted. But it was good practice.

NMP - Children Book Illustration

Finished the 4 Double page Spreads and decided to turn it in to an PDF and place it on my Ipad. The results looks better then I expected and works well. Hope Printed versions will turn out better.

NMP - Children’s Book Illustration

A colour test. Am testing the colours using a minimal pallet like of 3 or 4 colours and testing it on different paper textures.

After deciding my first 4 double page spreds were s**t! I started them again and improved and should of done this in the first place so now am sticking to digital colouring for final pice with a nice paper texture overlay. I improved the lines, detail in drawings, better inking techniques, and more movement. To be honest the original drawings looks better the the scanned imaged.

After seeing some nice typography and designs on tumblr for the Salford Show (even tho am not helping out with it) I just decided to just throw one in there. I havent done much typography since i started doing illustration in the second year of uni. (Its funny how i get so motivated to do work at 2 o’clock in the morning.)

NMP - Children Book

3 double page spreads of the children book but feel disappointed in them because of water colour paint on a large scale drawing didn’t turn out as I hoped. I think I underestimated how hard it would of been to water colour and i hoped it would turn out like the ones in my sketch book.  Need to get my hands on the A3 scanners at uni to do some editing on them.

This is one double page spred inked and my favorite out of the lot these are ready to be coloured and finalized. All thats left is to add water colour in the same way i did with another image i posted of the colour test.

NMP - Dummy Book

Two pages from the dummy children’s book. The scans didn’t turn out will because of the I use a H3 pencil. Finalization is going well just a few more.

Practice - Illustration

Some more practice heads from the side this is number 3 and number 7. Yes i have 4,5 and 6 but they to big for my scanner (need and A3 scanner). Number 3 is one of my best and the ones in between these 2 aren’t as good and number 7 is the first one i inked. I need to make then next ones more interesting looking like number 3.
